A cartouche, worked on both faces.

The oval with its tie at the foot — the ring a king's name was written inside — the field textured like bark and the signs raised on it. On the front, life and rebirth: the ankh over a scarab. On the back a line of glyphs — a reed, an eye, a seated figure and the water sign — set out the way a name is on the cartouche that has been carried home from Egypt since there were boats up the Nile. Whose, it does not say. A tapered bail on top.
